Rich Miner is joining AGI, Inc. as an advisor.

Rich co-founded Android, the operating system now running on billions of devices. Before that, he founded Wildfire Communications, a voice assistant that let people get work done on their phone by talking to it, back in the 1990s. He also co-founded Google Ventures. Few people have spent more time on the question we work on every day: how do you get the phone to do the work for you?

What we build

Our agent runs on Android today. When you ask it for something, it reads the screen the way a person would, taps what a person would tap, and moves between whatever apps the job needs until it's done. AGI-O, the model behind it, is #1 on AndroidWorld with a 97.4% task success rate.

The action layer — the Agentic OS

Assistants can answer almost anything now, and they still can't book you a restaurant, make a post on Instagram, find that person you met at the event last week on LinkedIn and send them a message to invite them out for coffee.

The missing piece is between the assistant and the apps. We call it the action layer.

It operates the device to do the tasks that you ask for.

We think this layer decides what the next generation of devices looks like.

On a phone, it means errands get done while the phone sits in your pocket.

It matters even more on devices without a screen. Glasses and watches give you almost nothing to tap, so anything that gets done on them has to be done by an agent. Cars are the same, because the driver shouldn't be looking at a screen in the first place.

Where the layer runs matters too. An agent that operates your phone sees everything on it, and we think software with that much access should run on your hardware, under your control, so your data can stay with you.
